At Little Life Studio, I’ve curated a wide variety of beautiful props, fabrics, and textures for your newborn session. To make your experience smooth and stress-free, I like to prepare the setups before you arrive. One of the ways we make the session flow seamlessly is by choosing a color palette ahead of time.
Having a color scheme not only makes the session feel more intentional, but it also helps your photos look cohesive later—whether you’re creating an album, wall art, or birth announcement.
Tips for Choosing Your Colors
Match your home décor. If you’re planning to display your photos in your living room or bedroom, think about the colors that will complement your walls and furniture. It’s so special when your newborn art blends perfectly into your home.
Coordinate with the nursery. Many parents send me a quick photo of their baby’s nursery so I can get a sense of their style and set up a look that flows beautifully.
Keep your wardrobe in mind. After welcoming your baby, the last thing you’ll want to do is shop for new outfits. Look at the colors already in your wardrobe—you’d be surprised how well they can coordinate with our studio setups.
Neutrals are always timeless. When in doubt, soft whites, creams, and neutrals are classic choices that photograph beautifully and never go out of style.
For baby girls:
Rose dust & ivory
Soft blush & dove gray
Lavender mist & cream
Peach sorbet & seafoam
Dusty rose & warm sand
Plum wine & linen white
All-white simplicity
For baby boys:
Deep navy & ash gray
Aqua breeze & warm beige
Powder blue & stone gray
Forest green & chestnut brown
Sandstone & cocoa
Crimson red & midnight blue
Pure white
No matter which colors you choose, the most important thing is that your session feels personal and true to your family’s style. My goal is to create timeless, meaningful images that you’ll treasure forever.
